Saudi National Day 2021
An animated celebration of Saudi Arabia's National Day, built from land, heritage, and pride.
Saudi Arabia's 91st National Day called for animation that could hold the emotional register of a founding moment without collapsing into ceremony. The brief was simple: make the Kingdom feel alive on screen.
The visual language came from the land itself: desert light at golden hour, campfire flicker, city skylines burning bright at night. Geography as identity; landscape as argument.
Geography as identity: every frame was a landscape before it was a symbol.
The palette followed the same logic. Saudi green and white anchored the national insignia; warmth lived where the landscape was warm. Every frame was designed to hold as a still: a constraint applied from the first storyboard through to final render.
The final film was cut for both broadcast and social, each version shaped for its context. The fast-feed edits lost nothing: the imagery was precise enough to land in two seconds or two minutes.
Two seconds or two minutes — the imagery was precise enough to ask nothing extra of its audience.
"Ninety-one years of nationhood, distilled into motion, light, and desert fire."
