QNB: A World Cup Film Built on “Dream Bigger”

Qatar National Bank occupies a singular position in the Arab world: a state-backed institution with the reach and ambition of a global financial brand. When the 2022 FIFA World Cup arrived on home soil, QNB commissioned a film that could hold its own on an international stage.

A single theme: Dream Bigger

The creative strategy crystallised around a single theme. The phrase carried the dual weight the brief required: it addressed the aspirational register of World Cup advertising while mapping directly onto QNB’s positioning as the bank that backs its customers’ most audacious goals. The narrative traces the arc of ambition: the spark of a dream, the grind of pursuit, and the moment a goal is realised.

Casting: the decisive creative act

Casting was the campaign’s most decisive creative act. Khaby Lame, at the time the most-followed creator on TikTok globally, brought an audience that extended well beyond football. Neymar Jr. needed no introduction on a World Cup stage. Together the two created an unusual pairing, one from the pitch, one from the phone screen, both embodying the idea that extraordinary things are possible when you commit to the dream.

Dream Bigger: two words that carried the weight of an entire World Cup campaign and the ambitions of a global bank.

Production and post

Production was anchored in Qatar, with location choices made to reflect the host nation’s character without reducing it to postcard iconography. Post brought the film its final register: colour grading drew out the warmth of Qatari locations while maintaining the clean, premium look appropriate to a banking brand, and an original score built from quiet determination to full uplift.
